Prompt: At the end of Letter 21, Celie and Sofia share a rare moment of laughter that softens the tension between them. Write about a time when you and a sibling or family member shared an unexpected moment of joy after things had been tense or confusing. Explain how that moment helped bring you closer.

Prompt Response: I remember I was arguing with my cousin about something stupid and we ultimately sat in silence with one another at a park. It was late at night and dead quiet, then we both heard a odd squawk from a bird from the nearby pond. We both had a light laugh that transitioned into uncontrollable laughter as we found catharsis in laughter with one another.

Summary: In class we read more of The Color Purple, and worked on our adobe project about our assigned letter of the novel.

Reflection: It's funny how I don't remember how most arguments start but I remember the ends of them. The good and the bad. Though the arguments that end in laughter draw us closer despite the divide that begun to form at the argument.

Prompt: Pretend you are writing a blog entry as Celie; the moment you uncover the hidden letters. Describe what you would think, say, and do, and how this discovery would reshape how you see Mister and yourself. Reflect on why this moment would matter so much and how it would change your next choices.

In "The Lamb" and "The Tyger", both poems suggest that beauty and danger can come from the same source. Describe a time when something or someone you admired also scared or challenged you. How did that experience change the way you see the world or the idea of “goodness”?
