Prompt: Write about a moment when you had to step out of your comfort zone.

Prompt Response: When I started wrestling I hadn't done a sport in years or anything involving cardio. Then jumping into wrestling was a challenge to say the least. I couldn't breathe and I felt like a loser for months. It took a long time but eventually I got my footing and expanded my gas tank. I used to dread matches now I look forward to them.

Summary: We read fences during class.

Reflection: I have a love hate relationship with wrestling. Though starting out it was all hate. I don't know how I kept at it for so long with that hatred. Eventually I got better and I still remember winning my first match. I still cherish that win, due to how much effort I had to put forward to achieve it.

Prompt: Pretend you are writing a blog entry as Celie; the moment you uncover the hidden letters. Describe what you would think, say, and do, and how this discovery would reshape how you see Mister and yourself. Reflect on why this moment would matter so much and how it would change your next choices.

In "The Lamb" and "The Tyger", both poems suggest that beauty and danger can come from the same source. Describe a time when something or someone you admired also scared or challenged you. How did that experience change the way you see the world or the idea of “goodness”?
