Prompt: Think about the most stereotypical film you have ever seen. This could be a movie that represents a specific culture, race, gender, or group in an oversimplified or unrealistic way. In your response, explain what film you are referring to, what stereotypes were present in the film, and how those stereotypes shaped your understanding of that group at the time

Prompt Response: For me this was Kill Bill Vol 1 for the character of Pai Mei. I was too young to be watching a film like this. I hid behind my parents backs to watch it with my older brother. For me I thought if you lived in the mountains and were Asian you obviously knew some form of martial arts or why else would you live there? In time this assumption fell, but there was a time if I heard someone was Asian and they lived in isolation especially in mountains that they knew martial arts.

Summary: I was absent.

Reflection: I had to think long about this prompt because these assumptions and stereotypes can go unnoticed fairly easy if you grew up around it. So I wanted to think everything over careful to see what I had seen as a kid and interpreted a certain way because of that representation.

Prompt: Pretend you are writing a blog entry as Celie; the moment you uncover the hidden letters. Describe what you would think, say, and do, and how this discovery would reshape how you see Mister and yourself. Reflect on why this moment would matter so much and how it would change your next choices.

In "The Lamb" and "The Tyger", both poems suggest that beauty and danger can come from the same source. Describe a time when something or someone you admired also scared or challenged you. How did that experience change the way you see the world or the idea of “goodness”?
